Macedonia, now named FYROM

A part of the former Yugoslavia, now named FYROM (Former Yugoslav Republic Of Macedonia).
Macedonia/FYROM applied for EU membership in 2004 and was approved as candidate contry by 2005.

Notes

Macedonia is the oldest surviving name of a European country. It was once given to an ancient kingdom founded in 808 B.C.
