A prosecutor is an official who brings charges for alleged crimes before the Courts. At present, the EU has no common prosecutor.
The future
The EU Constitution allows the establishment of such a function to combat serious crimes affecting more than one member state, or offences against the Union´s financial interests when unanimously approved.
