Stability Pact for South-Eastern Europe

The Pact was decided in 1999 for the purpose of organising the EU’s relations with the former Yugoslavia. It provides for individual Stabilisation and Association Agreements, which in turn can precede opening the option of EU membership.
The new states are financially supported by the European Agency for Reconstruction located in Thessaloniki.
