ACP countries - Associated Community Countries

Mainly former colonies of EU countries in Africa, the Caribbean and the Pacific (ACP) that have a special agreement with the EU in such matters as trade and aid.
In 2000, the former Lomé V Convention was renegotiated for 20 years  and renamed the Cotonou Agreement after it was signed in the capital of Benin. The agreement now covers 78 ACP countries and 640 million people. Cuba's membership is being discussed.
