Common Customs Tariff

The EU is a customs union with common tariffs for the rest of the world. The customs rates are decided by a qualified majority in the Council but bound by the WTO.

Notes

Importing a bicycle from Japan, for example, requires payment of a 15% customs duty to the EU.
