International Court of Justice, ICJ

It began work in 1946, when it replaced the Permanent Court of International Justice. On the basis of international law the ICJ has to decide on legal disputes submitted to it by the member states of the UN.
The Court is composed of 15 judges of different nationalities.
Notes
- In 2002, the International Criminal Court was established by the UN.
- The USA has, thus far, refused to accept the authority of the ICC.
