Mercosur
Economic co-operation agreement from 1991 between Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay and Uruguay.
In 1995 a free trade area and a customs union has been created. The aim is the setting up of a common market by 2006.
Chile and Bolivia are associated members since 1996.
