Additives which are used in food products. Can cause allergies but are allowed by the EU.
Sweden used the environmental clause to defend protection rules. Sweden confiscated 350 kilos of candy coloured with Ponceau 4R (E124), but the EU Commission intervened and Sweden lost the case in the EU Court in Luxembourg.

Other well-known allergy risk azo additives are tartrazin and sunset yellow.
