Has a population of 1.95 million and an area of 20,273 km².

A member of the EU since 1^st May 2004. On the 23^rd March 2003, 89% of the population voted “Yes” to membership of the EU.

Had a Europe Agreement since 1996 and entered into Accession Partnership in 1998.

Notes

Slovenia was a part of the former Yugoslavia, independent since 1991.
