Social Protocol
A protocol annexed to the Treaty of Maastricht to make advances in EU social policy. All Member States except the UK signed it. When Prime Minister Blair took power, the UK accepted the protocol, which is now a part of the Treaty (Art. 136-139 TEC) binding all Member States.
