Troika
The Council is often represented by the so-called "Troika" abroad. Before the Treaty of Amsterdam, it consisted of the EU presidency, supported by the previous and next presidencies.Since the Treaty of Amsterdam, the High Representative supported by the Council's presidency and the EU Commission President have been called the "Troika".
