Racism and Xenophobia

Discrimination is forbidden in the EU.
Racism and xenophobia were first outlawed at the EU level in a “Joint Declaration” between the institutions in 1986. This principle is now a part of the TEC, Art. 13, introduced under the Treaty of Amsterdam.

Notes

The EU runs an agency in Vienna to assess and report on the extent of racism and xenophobia in the Member States.
