Germany has a population of 82.3 million and has an area of 360,000 km2. It was one of the original EEC Member States. At present, it has 10 out of 87 votes in the Council and 99 out of 626 seats in the EU Parliament.

The future

After the next enlargement of the EU, Germany will have 29 votes out of 321 in the Council and will keep 99 seats out of 732 in the EU Parliament.
